If someone you know exhibits signs of suicide:
Do not leave the person alone
Remove any firearms, alcohol, drugs or sharp objects that could be used in a suicide attempt
Call the U.S. National Suicide Prevention Lifeline at 1-800-273-8255
Take the person to an emergency room or seek help from a medical or mental health professional
Warning Signs of Suicide:
Talking about wanting to die
Looking for a way to kill oneself
Talking about feeling hopeless or having no purpose
Talking about feeling trapped or in unbearable pain
Talking about being a burden to others
Increasing the use of alcohol or drugs
Acting anxious, agitated, or recklessly
Sleeping too little or too much
Withdrawing or feeling isolated
Showing rage or talking about seeking revenge
Displaying extreme mood swings
The more of these signs a person shows, the greater the risk. Warning signs are associated with suicide but may not be what causes a suicide.

IPONDA is a free and confidential telephone service that provides petitioners two important features: information and notification. IPONDA provides victims of domestic violence, stalking, harassment, and sexual assault access to timely and reliable information about the service status of their protective order or no-contact order. Victims can receive automated notification 24 hours a day, 7 days a week and 365 days a year by telephone, the Internet, or email. By telephone, victims can always contact a live operator who is trained in victim services by calling 1-888-742-8463.

IowaVINE is a free and anonymous telephone service that provides victims of crime two important features: information and notification. Across the state, crime victims and other concerned parties use IowaVINE for access to timely and reliable information about the custody status of an offender. Victims can receive automated notification by telephone, the Internet, or email 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. Registrant Watch
Registrant Watch works by transmitting near real-time information from the Iowa Sex Offender Registry database system to the Registrant Watch Service. Crime victims and other interested parties can access the information visiting the Iowa Sex Offender Registry website any time day or night or calling 515-725-6050. Victims can inquire where a registrant is located, as well as information on other identifying characteristics, and register to receive automated notifications via phone, text or email when this information is updated.

Individuals seeking housing and service providers can call a toll-free, multilingual call center for assistance with housing searches at 1-877-428-8844. The call center is available Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. Central Time. Listing information can be provided by phone, email, mail, and fax.
Iowa Warm Line:
The Warm Line is a peer-run, telephone-based, non-crisis, confidential, listening line for anyone struggling with mental health or substance abuse issues. The Warm Line is staffed by people who have been through a similar journey and are in recovery themselves.
