The Queens were led offensively by senior Avery Luett and freshman Maggie House, with 10 kills apiece. The setting combination of Olivia Glover and Vanessa Hensel quarterbacked the offense with 19 and 10 assists on the night. The Queens picked the right time to finish with 40 kills as a team, second highest attacking effort of the year. Luett hosted many block parties at the net, as she denied 2 solo and 2 assist blocks. They finished with a team high 47 digs on the night, led by Maloree Byrns and Haley Thomas with 12 and 10 digs in the back row defensively. Ace, ace baby as the Queens finished with 16 aces, a team high this year, as Byrns and Glover blasted through the Sabers serve receive line with 6 and 4, respectively. This is the second straight year the Queens defeated the Sabers as the visitor. They will enjoy the win, but quickly turn their focus to powerhouse and defending state champ #3 North Scott on Thursday, at the Pit. First serve is slated for 7:00pm. A HUGE HUGE shout out to the Royal Student Fans for showing up and shouting out your support last night. Quack, quack and thanks for your energy!
