Attention all lovers of knowledge. It is that time of year again to be revving up the lightning fast buzzer fingers and bringing the files of unconventional knowledge to the forefronts of your brains. Yes, it is time to assemble the infamous CHS Quiz Bowl Team. If you are interested in participating please see or email Mrs. Steines. We need to start practicing soon!

The Royal River King and Queen Marching Band had another fantastic competition weekend. They finished 2nd out of 5 bands at West Liberty in the afternoon with a score of 79.75 and 3rd out of 6 bands at Muscatine in the evening with a score of 78.9. Next weekend, they will perform at the state marching band competition in Muscatine Saturday afternoon and then host their own competition at Coan Field starting at 6:00 pm. Come see what a marching band competition is all about and enjoy a fireworks finale.
Last Friday night, the River King's football team hosted Burlington for senior night. Despite jumping on Burlington 7-0 early, the Kings went into halftime trailing 20-7. In the second half, the Kings defense and offense went into high gear outscoring Burlington 27-12 to win by a final of 34-32. This was the second win in a row for the Kings as the seniors won the last game they will play at home. Great job Kings.
The Fresh/Soph River Kings trounced the Burlington Greyhounds on Friday night. The Kings lit up the scoreboard with 39 points. While the defense controlled the Greyhounds only letting up 14 points. The Kings play again against the North Scott Lancers on Friday night. Go Kings!
