  • The Queens volleyball program traveled down to host Davenport Central last night. The Queens swept at all levels including the sophomore, JV, and varsity levels! The sophomores brought out the brooms and controlled all 3 sets versus the Blue Devils, en route to a commanding 3-0 sets win. The varsity had a slow start out of the gate on senior night, dropping the 1st set 20-25. The Queens stuck together and played some great volleyball to finish the night. The varsity squad took the next 3 sets, 25-20, 25-20, 26-24 to win the match 3-1.  Double digit leaders for your Queens varsity team include Joselyn Petersen and Maloree Byrns with 13 and 12 kills, respectively. The team had a season HIGH 46 kills and hit close to .200%. Olivia Glover and Haylee House ran the offense as they ended up with 24 and 12 assists. The Queens had 12 aces as a team in the 4 sets. Hayley Thomas led the back row with 17 digs, as Maloree Byrns had 11 digs. It was a big blocking night for the visitors as they cashed in on 2 solo and 12 assists blocks at the net. Joselyn Petersen and Avery Luett were huge at the net as they each had 1 solo block and 7 combined assist blocks. Great job Queen Volleyball!
