  • Congratulations to the Royal River King and Queen Marching band on two excellent performances over the weekend! The band finished 4th in Linn-Mar behind West Des Moines Valley, Cedar Rapids Prairie, and Norwalk and beating Cedar Rapids Washington, Waterloo West, Newton, Western Dubuque, and Bettendorf. The color guard finished 2nd in the same class beating everyone except Cedar Rapids Washington! In the evening performance in Marion they place 4th again behind West DesMoines Valley, Cedar Rapids Prairie, and Newton and beating Western Dubuque.  The band received an overall score of 75.7 at both competitions which is the highest score the band has received at their first competition of the year in a long time. They will compete again in 2 weeks at West Liberty and Muscatine.

  • The River Kings competed in the MAC Conference meet on Friday and Saturday.  Windy conditions provided some tougher playing conditions that challenged the players all weekend. Scott Pasakarnis was the team medalist for both days shooting 86 and 88 respectively..  Connor Busse shot 90-91 for his two day total finishing 2nd for the team.  Brycen Lawrence shot 92-93 for the two days.  Also joining the scoring column were Ray Brown on Friday and Cohen Thorpe.  Hunter Frahm and Nathan Frye also competed but did not count for the team scores.

  • On Friday night the River Kings traveled to Cedar Rapids Xavier.  The Varsity Kings battled hard but did not come out on top.  The Freshmen/Sophomore team also came up short to a quality Xavier team. Thank you to everyone for their continued support.  We are looking for a big crowd for this Friday as we take on Oskaloosa.  GO KINGS!!
