  • Homecoming week is next week.  Dress up days for next week: Monday: ‘Merica Monday, Tuesday: Dress nice for Coronation, Wednesday: VSCO vs Disco, Thursday: Construction, and Friday: Red and Black. 


  • Attention all seniors and juniors! If you are interested in being a part of the upperclassman class float for the Homecoming parade come sign up in Mrs. Warren's room (room 204)!


  • Attention Sophomores: Please check your email for a Google form regarding assembly games this year.


  • There is an OK list for the homecoming dance posted outside the library by the book return.  If your name isn’t on it, ask in the library to see what you need to do to go to the dance.


  • Career interest opportunity:  First Responders Trade Show -(Police, Fire, EMT, Military)  Thursday October 3rd at the Clinton Armory.  Please stop by room A227 or e-mail Marla Schultz marla.schultz@csdkq.org or you can also contact your high school counselor.  This event will be held from 9am-Noon and necessary to RSVP by today. 


  • Sign-up for The Homecoming Dance closes Today. If you want to go to the dance you must sign up using the form. Tickets will be sold Sept 30 till Oct 3rd (Monday through Thursday) in the library. Cash or check only. Again sign up closes TODAY at 3:45pm


  • Out of school date forms for the Homecoming Dance are due back in the library today. If you don’t return the form your date can’t come.


  • Last night River Kings and Queens XC competed against seventeen teams, including eight top ranked teams, in the Dubuque Invitational.  Varsity girls were led by Alli Haskell, Aubrey Rivers, Sescie Haan, and Kirstin Bengtson.  Varsity boys placed 13th. The Kings were led by Kolton Lorion,  Ed Weiner, Zarek Haskell, CJ Estes,  Anthony Sayson, Carter Dunham, and Jayden Krogmann.  JV Girls placed 10th and were led by Akehmah McClendon, Sophia Morley, and Avery Balog. The JV Boys placed 10th and were led by Jordan Stafford, Asher Dornbush, and Connor Roberts.  Fourteen runners earned a PR. They include: Haskell, McClendon, Morley, Chloe Ellis, Weiner, Estes, Sayson, birthday boy Cael Schwarz, Stafford, Roberts, Jason Wheat, Logan Spooner, and Johnny Gonzalez.  The team had fought hard against top flight competition and represented CHS well.  If you see a runner in the hallway, give them a high-five. The harriers travel to Williamsburg on Tuesday to compete in the Williamsburg Invitational.


  • The JV Boys golf team played at home yesterday and lost 182-203.  Freshmen Dalton Kohl and Carter Thorpe tied for team medalist honors.  Also scoring for the Kings were freshmen Maverick Hensel and Griffen Keefer.  The JV Boys have the JV MAC Conference meet on Monday at Valley Oaks Golf Course while the varsity boys team is playing today and tomorrow at the MAC Conference meet at Midland Golf Club in Kewanee.


  • The Queens hosted the Sabers last night in Yourd Gym. The sophomores battled hard but dropped the match 1-3. The varsity Queens struggled from the start of the match and could never rebound to put the pressure on DeWitt. The Sabers swept the Queens in 3 sets. Although the team didn't play their best volleyball, Joselyn Petersen was a bright spot for the team as she recorded a team high 4 kills and 9 digs. The Queens have the weekend off before they host their last match in Yourd Gym...SENIOR NIGHT on Tuesday, October 1st (during Homecoming Week).  Please get out to support your 6 seniors on Tuesday at 5:00pm and 6:30pm.
