  • The River King Boys golf team competed in the Saber Invitational yesterday at Springbrook Country Club and were successful in bringing their team average down with some lower scores from their players. The Kings placed 7th out of 10 teams with junior Scott Pasakarnis taking team medalist honors with an 84.  Connor Busse scored for the team with an 86, Hunter Frahm with an 89, and Ray Brown with a 93.  The Kings have the MAC Conference two-day tournament this Friday and Saturday played at Midland Golf Club in Kewanee, Illinois.

  • The Freshman Queens swept all 3 sets against Assumption on Monday night in Yourd Gymnasium. The competitive group carried that momentum over in the first set against Pleasant Valley as they trailed 16-17, before PV called a timeout to reset. The freshmen were IMPRESSIVE as they dug, blocked, and played some great volleyball against one of the top volleyball programs in the state. They travel to nearby Camanche for a Quad on Saturday, September 28th as they play at 9:00, 9:45, and 10:30am. The Queens sophomore and varsity volleyball teams traveled down to host #2 (Class 5A powerhouse) Pleasant Valley last night. Although both the sophomores and varsity were swept in straight sets, the Queens played some resilient and scrappy volleyball. Although the result isn't what the Queens wanted, they learned that life is more than a game and more about building relationships with their teammates/coaches and becoming more positive, and quality women. Avery Luett led the charge defensively at the net with 2 blocks, while Olivia Glover had an amazing solo "six pack" to kick off the Queens "block party" in the Spartan den. Mallory Byrns and Maggie House led the Queens offensively with a pair of kills. Haley Thomas led the back row defense with 7 defensive digs.  Don't forget the Queens host the second to last home match on THURSDAY, SEPTEMBER 26th versus the DeWitt Sabers. First serve is slated for 5:00pm.

  • Your Queens traveled to Pleasant Valley last night to take on the Lady Spartans. Despite having several quality swims and time drops the Queens fell to the Lady Spartans 138 to 32. Lahna Schroeder was one of the bright spots with a victory in the 100 Free. JV 200 Free Relay was won by Otegui, Elmore, Bradley and Emmert. Queens will host Davenport Falcons next Tuesday during Homecoming Week. Come Support YOUR Queens!
