  • We are taking the Edmentum tests this week. We will have individual core departments proctor a test each day during regularly scheduled class time throughout the week.  We hope that this approach will minimize testing anxiety and help with testing stamina. So it is in your best interest to make sure you are here and trying your best this week. Don’t forget you must have these done to go to the Homecoming Dance.


  • As we are testing this week don’t forget to charge your computers and bring your chargers to school.  The library has a limited number of loaner chargers.


  • The Homecoming Dance is on Oct. 5th.  Sign-up will start after school on Sept 13th (Friday). The form will be sent to your school email around 3:45 pm. If you want to go to the dance you must sign up using this form. You need to have all the Edmentum tests done to go to the dance. Also you need to have 2 out of these 3 green to go. Attendance: less than 2 unexcused absences or 10 tarties, Grades: passing, and Fees: Paid.  If you have questions about sign-up or the requirements to go please ask in the Library. Out of school date forms for Homecoming are also already available in the library.


  • History Club will meet today at 3:45 in Hollister's room(205)


  • Josten's presentation has been moved to Tuesday, September 10th (tomorrow). We will do sophomores at the end of 2nd hour (9:50ish) and the seniors will be at the start of 3rd period.  This will push back them taking orders on September 17th.


  • Juniors and Seniors: Do you have an interest in becoming a Power Lineman?  If so, please stop by room A227 to learn about an upcoming college visit that has been scheduled to Marshalltown Community College for Tomorrow, September 10th.  Students will have an opportunity to tour the facility and visit with current students of the Powerline Technician Program.  You may also email CCTC Marla Schultz for more information.


  • On Friday night, the River Kings football teams played their first home game of the season, hosting the Maquoketa Cardinals. The Sophomore Kings opened the evening with an exciting close game, beating Maquoketa by a score of 24 -- 20. The Sophomore Kings improved their record to 3 -- 0 on the young season in a total team effort!  The Varsity was up next and found themselves in a tight battle....every possession was critical. The Kings won for the first time this season, outscoring Maquoketa 13 -- 7!!   Thank you to everyone who came out to support the Kings at their home opener, the boys love seeing you in the stands!  The River Kings travel to Dubuque this Friday to take on Wahlert Catholic High School at Loras College. Game time is 5:00 pm kickoff for the Sophs and 7:30 pm start for the Varsity. GO KINGS!!!
