The River Kings played strong through some intense heat today at Thunder Hills Country Club in Peosta today. Three players managed to score their best rounds of the season despite less than ideal conditions. Brycen Lawrence and Connor Busse both shot 82 while Cohen Thorpe, in his first year of golfing, shot a 91. Hunter Frahm rounded out the scoring for the Kings who placed 8th out of 11 teams shooting 349. Also playing yesterday for the Kings were Scott Pasakarnis and Ray Brown.
Your River Queen Swimmers captured a season opening win over the Tipton Tigers 89 to 52. Taking 1st places for the Queens were: 200 Medley and 200 Free Relays - Schroeder, Srp, Brisch, Cagle, 200 IM and 100 Back - Schroeder, 50 Free - Cagle, 100 Fly - Brisch, and 100 Breast - Srp. We had nice swims by Brown, Ewer, Emmert as well! Nice Job by all Queens. Thanks to the staff for helping time and to all in attendance. If anyone is still interested in joining the River Queen Swim team it is not too late to start. See a swimmer or stop by Coach Hayton's room A-123.
